Phoenix: The Jeep That Carries Our Heroes

By: Krista Fee

A Jeep Unlike Any Other

Some vehicles turn heads because of their style. Phoenix turns heads because of her spirit.

She is the Memorial Jeep — a living vessel of remembrance, resilience, and the American Spirit. She has carried the names of hundreds of fallen military members and first responders across thousands of miles. She has climbed rocks, forded rivers, and rolled through floodwaters and wildfires to ensure survivors, rescuers, and supplies always find their way.

Phoenix is not just built tough. She is built sacred. Every inch of her carries purpose. Every mission she undertakes leaves behind ripples of honor and hope.

And today, her story matters more than ever.

The Florida Ferryman Mission

In one of her most sacred journeys, Phoenix set out from Texas on what we called the Florida Ferryman Mission. Her task? To carry and hand-deliver plaques for 37 fallen heroes.

Thirty-seven names. Thirty-seven families. Thirty-seven legacies carried with intention across every mile of the road.

These plaques were not mailed. They were not dropped in a box. They were presented face-to-face, hand-to-hand, heart-to-heart. Each delivery carried a simple but powerful message: Your hero is not forgotten. Their service, their sacrifice, and their story live on through us, and through Phoenix.

Among the families we were honored to serve was the family of Deputy Sheriff Matthew Locke.

Deputy Sheriff Locke was killed in the line of duty while protecting the life of a domestic violence victim. In that moment, he lived out the purest meaning of service, giving his life to shield another.

He left behind a loving family. And he left behind a young daughter named Riley. For us, speaking her name #forRiley has become a rallying cry, a battle standard for this mission. It reminds us that the work we do is not abstract. It’s not numbers on a page. It’s real children. Real families. Real lives.

That mission ended at Jeep Beach in Daytona, one of the largest gatherings of Jeep owners in the nation. But Phoenix wasn’t there to show off. She was there to spread awareness about military and responder suicide, and about the growing culture of violence targeting our protectors.

That journey was about remembrance, yes. But it was also about something more. It was about bringing hope and healing to those who are still with us.

The Texas Hill Country Floods

The Florida mission reminded us of our sacred duty to remember. The Texas Hill Country Floods reminded us of our sacred duty to respond.

When warnings came that a 25-foot wall of water was headed toward the valley, hundreds of Search and Rescue personnel were out in the field — spread across dangerous terrain, and many were out of radio reach. Phoenix was called into action.

She assisted in a search evacuation, carrying responders back to safety as the waters threatened to rise. She transported personnel and critical gear, making sure no one was stranded in harm’s way. She hauled survival supplies into staging areas where teams regrouped. And she went offroad, pressing through mud and climbing obstacles that most vehicles couldn’t attempt, ensuring responders had a lifeline when they needed it most.

Every dent, every scratch, every mud-caked tire told a story of resilience. Phoenix never once quit. And in those moments, she wasn’t just a Jeep. She was part of the mission, a bridge between danger and safety, a partner ensuring that the searchers could go home to their own families.

Because when disaster strikes, readiness isn’t optional. It’s the difference between life and death.

Crisis Season Never Ends

If these missions have taught us anything, it’s this: crisis season never ends.

Floods, wildfires, hurricanes, community violence, and grief — they do not wait for us to be ready. They don’t pause until the timing feels right. They come when they come, and when they do, we must already be prepared.

That is why this moment is so urgent.

We need to raise $10,000 right now for critical parts that ensure Phoenix can keep rolling into crisis zones. These aren’t vanity upgrades. They aren’t about looking tough at events. These are survival necessities — steering, suspension, power, resilience, the tools that make Phoenix a lifeline in the face of chaos.

When Phoenix is strong, she carries survivors. She carries rescuers. She carries supplies. And she carries plaques that honor the fallen. She carries ripple stones that remind the world their lives still echo.

And she carries the American Spirit, unbroken, unyielding, unstoppable.
